Rex, Thanks for the info on your brother and his performace at RHS. My older sister has kinda-sorta kept in contact with Doug so she was excited to go watch. She really enjoyed herself and was able to talk to Doug after the show. My wish to everyone is to have a merry christmas and of course a Happy New Year. It's been really fun this year renewing so many old friendships! Keep in touch . . . Love ya all! Karen

Firstly...THANK YOU Brian for sharing your wonderful poem. You truly captured what this time of year is REALLY all about. Burton I hope everyone that contributes to this guest book has convinced you that love and friendship is a gift from God and it's sad we take only one day a year to fully appreciate it. Kim, I'm so sorry to hear about Tom. I figured something must be wrong. Is there anything I can do? Don't let the hussle and bustle of the season get you down everyone, take that moment Brian did to pause and remember. God Bless.

WOW... I cannot believe how much I've missed you guys... You folks are all so wonderful. Burton, I usually have the same feelings at Christmas. I count the days until it is "over". You need to look around your house and count your blessings because I know you have a wonderful family. I think it is so neat we are all still reading and talking. Karen, did you send me that story? Jerry, thanks for writing it because it was wonderful, and made me stop and think about life. Brian.. you're a poet and you know it!! Thanks for sharing. Rex... I wish I could see your brother's show it sounds like a winner. We've had some health problems with my Tom lately and been really busy, but I've decided you guys are the best therapy ever...... Let's keep talking!! I'll tell what, if we are all still talking in February, I think we should all get together for dinner. Linda... I've missed your emails' but I know it's my turn!! OK... enough mush.... GET YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DONE.....Love you all...

A few months ago, Mike V. asked me to share some poetry with you all, so here's my Christmas poem;
A Pitchfork Full of Christmas
On a cold December evenin'
near Wyomin's border line
I was stayin' over at the ranch
of a real good friend of mine
He'd gone to town to get supplies
while I chopped water holes
that's got to be done twice a day
at thirty-two below
I stepped into the old log barn
to put the ax away
and feed the saddle horses
from a stack of meadow hay
As I pitched the manger full
of those dry and rustling stems
It hit me that back two thousand years
this is how it must have been
When the Saviour came into this world
to a stable like this one
A barn out back where God first sent
His only begotten Son
The heat from all those horses
in that little log-walled shed
Kept the manger warm enough
to be a baby's bed
I stood there for a moment
then took my hat off slow
and offered up a prayer of thanks
from us all here below
The way that Jesus lived His life
and the way He died for us
Shows a feller how to try his best
and not betray the trust
As I walked back to the ranch house
I looked up toward the sky
And I thought I saw a twinkle
way out East and way up high
So you can talk about those sleigh bells
and Old Santa's jolly laugh
But I felt Christmas in my heart
as I pitched a manger full of grass
Brian Arnold
Happy Holidays All!!!

This Friday at the Roy High's little theater, my older brother Doug will be performing the 'One Christmas Carol'. Its a one man play where he protrays 32 different characters, each unique in personality. It's really is good. Doug has been a professional actor for 34 years, performing as Merlin in the 'Tournament of Kings' at the Excaliber Hotel in Vegas for 12 years. He teaches theater and drama at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Chyenne Campus. This would be a great addition to your holiday celebration.

Karen DeVries (Yoshimura) sent me this email today. I really liked the story. Merry Xmas everyone - JR.
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorr ow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled
around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives. "He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I
liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! "He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, ! Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous. Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend . He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With one small gesture you can change a person's life.

Sheila…you can send over Mrs. Santa, she can sit on my lap and we could talk about what she wants for Christmas. I don’t think that a singing phone call would help, but I'm alway up for something new. I called one of these 999 numbers and she sang to me, but I didn’t know the song, so I hung up. (Not really). Boy…Brian…when you get going, I feel like I should sat and put my hand over my heart. Then stand there with my head down, for a minute of silence. Everyone have a great holiday, be safe and always have fun. ☺

Cow moose in distress? That might come in handy during hunting season! Seriously, Christmas comes and goes, but what matters most is God, Country, family, & friends (hopefully in that order). I'm proud to call you all my friends, and wish you all the best throught the Holiday season. (I'm finished with the serious part now, how'd I do?) Sheila…ha-ha-ha every funny. You know, I did play Joseph once in a Christmas play. I think I was seven or eight years old. I don’t think that a Christmas play at my house will help with my Christmas spirit. I listen to Christmas music in my truck, so that’s not helping. Maybe November just went by to fast and the spirit just hasn’t reached me yet. But thank for making me laugh.☺

Thank Rex for the comment. Yes, I’m all right and all who shop on black Friday are doing well, as far as I know. I broke the rules and shopped on Thanksgiving…Bad, Bad Boy that I am. The few things I needed to get were on sale on Thursday, so I went out on the holiday. Friday I slept in…first time in many, many years. It felt great. Way to go Linda…see not so bad, was it. Got the Christmas trees up and the house inside done, my kids did it. Not sure what it is, but really not in the Christmas spirit this year. Thanksgiving was good, it nice to see my wife’s family. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving…☺

I got some more info on Coach Freddie. He is interested in landing a job with Coach Canales, and Canales has applied for the USU job. However the new AD wants a current college level coach rather then a NFL coach.
For current recruiting reasons a college coach would have a step up. So, according to a friend of my sons, who is a player at USU and spoke personally with the new AD, John Mcbride is high on the list of canidates. I think he would be a good choice but that USU would miss the boat by not going with Chico and Fred. One other thing I was told by a fellow coach friend of Freds, is that Weber is not showing any interest in Fred, that he is not a factor there at all. James, I hate shopping the day after thanksgiving and think people who do like too are slightly unhinged. Except anyone reading this who likes to shop on Freaky Friday, you are completely sane. Even James Burton.... Maybe........

That’s “OK” Brian. I love shopping the day after Thanksgiving. My wife hates to go. So, I’ve always gone out. It started when the kids were young, now it just for the fun of it. And now that the kids are older, we go together, shopping, push people around, shopping some more, push more people around, and then we go eat brunch. One day I should stop going…my love for the people that crash the line is getting out of hand. Haven’t hurt anyone yet…maybe anger management classes might help. No… I don’t think. Rex, you must like it, I think it would be a lot like playing football. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving…☺

Jerry,I hope Gary gets one more year as well. The only way to make a true judgement on his program will be to give him next year to see how they can do without any Edwards leftovers. I have been a Ute fan for a long time but switched over when the Y hired Gary. He really is a great person and I'm not sure the Y can find any one as good.My son played for Fred the last three years and now has two state champ rings. You wouldn't be able to express how good of a coach he is in any short discription Jerry. We loved him and my son was totally committed to him and his program, would have done anything for him. My next son was crushed when Fred quit, he was only a sophmore this year. He really likes the new coach, who just happens to be Fred Thompson's little boy who was born during our senior year of football. As far as Fred's business, I think it is going very well. Fred was hardly ever around the HS, and made it to very few games because he was out of town on business. I assume, knowing how he works, he is being very successful. As far as WSU or USU I can't really say, but Fred did tell me once he didn't want to move way out of state to coach college football, but that he was interested in coaching at that level. I think his best friend, Chico Canalas, will get the USU job and that he will hire Fred to be his head assistant. I would not GUESS that Fred would take the Wildcat job. But, there is a reason I capp'ed GUESS,because thats what it is. You take care Jer----and may the rest of you have a happy thanksgiving!Hey, Schwitzer, be a good grand-pa-pa. Congrats

Speaking of Football, I heard a rumor that Weber High recently approached Freddie Fernandes about coaching at Weber High and his response was that he basically had higher aspirations. Any thoughts on whether Utah State or Weber State would approach Freddie? I don't know how his new business is doing, but I sure thought he was a great coach at Northridge.

Rex, personally I really liked Crowton and I do hope they keep him around next year just to prove what "his" team could do from his recruiting efforts. But, I think there may be some coaching changes in the works. I am still BYU blue, but it was just a fantastic ride for the Utes. JR.

No Linda, I think that JFK wakes up his or her ducks as a Thanksgiving tradition. Sheila…That’s cool you are done. I have got one or two things left to do. I got a big package yesterday of stuff I had ordered.
Linda, I so jealous of you spending Christmas in England. (In 1976, I lived in Tasmanian, Australia. The Prime Minister of Tasmania had a party, for the Bicentennial, for some high ranking America’s that was visiting. I was lucky enough to get invited to the gala. Anyway, I got to meet the Queen of England at the party. Something I will never forget.) I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll see some of you in a store, the day after Thanksgiving. Kim, sorry to hear about your baby, when I lost my Budcus I couldn't eat or sleep worth a darn for 2 weeks! I know how you feel, hang in there!! Did everyone vote today?? It's not a God given right it was fought for and earned so everyone should take advantage of that priviledge! If you don't vote you can't complain! Well enough lecturing. HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!!!!

No doubt Burton! I'm sure that's true. I was just trying to generate some conversation, not question your loyalty.
Kim, hang in there. I don't remember who it is that has a cabin in Florida; I was wondering if you were voting here or there, or both. HAHA!

Kim, I’m sorry about your dog. If something happen to my dog, I don’t know what I would do. She there when I get up, when I come home from work, and she there when I go to bed. If I go up stairs, she follows along. Well, Halloweens is over. Did anyone have a lot of kids come to their house? Now, it’s time to get ready for the holidays. Rex, I still live in Roy and I keep an eye on what is going on at Roy High. All three of my girls went to Roy. So I think that more people than just you care about Roy. ☺

Hey everybody, did you see my daughters picture in the Standard Friday? She was playing Volleyball for Northridge in a game against Roy. I know everyones cares, but I have to confess that I cheered a little more for my girl then I did for the Royals. I feel like a hypocrite! Shamed but proud.

Hi everyone. Linda, sorry I haven't answered yet but I will today... Sounds like you've been having a ball as usual! What a life you lead... I had to put my puppy (who's also my baby) to sleep at the ripe old age of 120 (doggie years of course) on Monday. He had gotten to the point where he was deaf, blind and running into walls. If any of you have experienced this you know it's like losing a member of the family. (Karen, I'm sorry I haven't called to tell you yet but I just can't talk about it without crying). After it was over with,I laid on the table hugging him for 15 minutes. Way to go Sheila!! Of course we care Rex. Hi Burton! It's great to be back... You guys are soo much fun to read...

I’m still here Linda…I carve up some pumpkins every year. Spend 4 or 5 hours working on each one of them. They are having a pumpkin carving contest at my work. Some of the people won’t enter if I do. (Kind of childish, if you know what I mean). I like that time I spend with my kids, just carving away. There are some cool sites to get ideas. I like this one, http://www.pumpkinglow.com. The kid who runs the site lives in Logan. You can down load some go patterns off this site. Got to run…Take care ☺

Rex, It is good to see someone who cares. If alot more parents at the schools cared as much as you do, there would probably be alot less problems. I too am a careing person. Not only because I am an alumnist, but I have kids who are Royals as well. Props to ya Bro.

Because of the lack of interest I will indulge in a bit of idle kakkle. The Royals fizzled a 3-0 start into a 3-7 season. However, according to the press we had one of the top rushers in the state. A young man by the name of Archuleta provided some exciting moments for the Royal faithful. I realize that some of you ( maybe all ) don't really care, but, I really don't care if you don't care, because I have fun careing. Jerry, I'll bet you that I'm a bigger sentimental sapp then you.

Hey Everyone, Sorry I've been a bit busy lately. I just returned weekend before last from God's last frontier...Alaska. WOW sums it up. We hiked a glacier! The fall colors were in full bloom and the contrast of blue glaciers, white mountain tops and brillant yellows, golds and red were outstanding! Also just completed Wine 101...Awesome! I highly recommend Sur La Table check them out on the web. They have weekly classes. I tasted 7 different wines complimented with cheeses and fruits. Needless to say...I got a little tipsy from the experience! But it was worth it! Sheila, our webmail is turned off at work would you resent Jan's address, e-mail to me at: linda@scenepho.com? Thanks!

Just checked the comments after a two week business trip. I saw the roll call request and must admit I am here and have been part of the silent majority. I have talked with a few of our classmates and know they are read onlys like I have been. I thank all of you who have been diligent in keeping the guestbook alive. I will try to contribute a little more often and I hope those who have remained silently on the sidelines (like me) will do the same.
Rex, good luck in getting those tapes. While I never had the size or talent to play on those teams, I like many of our classmates were your biggest fans. I would love a copy of the dvd if you can put it together.
Sheila, Happy hunting.
Burton, Thanks for the great insights and I have a clean joke from this Idaho redneck - Why don't they ever solve redneck murders? Because they don't have any dental records and their DNA is all the same.
Have a good day Y-all

Hey Rex, I too must be one of those reminiscing type of guys. Being how I had so much fun working on the Roy High Video, my wife and I decided to make a big family video of my last 6 generations of family members. It has been fun gathering up old vidoes and photographs dating back to the 1900's. We went through the task of converting all of the old 8MM tapes and stuff. I found all kinds of old pictures from my pre-school through high school years - pictures and movies I didn't even know existed. I love some of the old 4th grade basketball team pictures with the Hooper guys. It brings back a lot of great memories. Rex, maybe we are just softies :)

If many of you guys who look at this page know me, you know that I don't frequent bars and I do my best to keep my cars wheels firmly on the road. You will also remember that I was a sports nut. Well guys this may come as a surprise to some of you, I still am.
I have also worked as a photographer and videographer. My daughter and I use to do weddings and I did sideline work for Northridge high school until my son's started playing there. I have a request; does anyone know what happened to our old game film from our Sr. year football team? Years ago someone (I can't rmember who) excitedly told me that Coach Jacklin had given him all the old football films. If I could get those I would like to transfere them to DVD. I love doing work where the past is captured and perserved. I know I would love to have these old films to show my kids. The only thing they know about me is that I can't jump off a bucket without an ambulance near by just in case I hurt myself. I also still love the guys who shared that competitive experience with me, and I would be happy to make copies for them too. That is, if they want to have them. I realize that some leave the past in the past and that others don't mind remising occasionally. I thank everyone for reading this and giving me this moment.
Roy, is 3-4 now; two streaks in one season;
3-0 and 0-4.

It was early morning at an Army camp and the first sergeant was calling out names for the daily work parties listed on a piece of paper:
"Ames"
"Here!"
"Jenson"
"Here!"
"Jones"
"Here!"
"Magersky"
"Here!"
"Seeback"
" -- "
"Seeback!"
" -- "
"SEEBACK!!!"
" -- "
At that point, someone whispered into the first sergeant's ear. He looked again at what the last name really said, quickly turned over the list and continued calling the names printed on the other side.
By the way, I here…☺

Hi Christine, I glad to hear that your cottage is “OK” and not wiped out; however, water to the door and now you have electricity, doesn’t sound like two things you want to mix. As part of your job, I applied to be part of the FEMA Team, but didn’t get picked up. A few people I work with did, but they will be part of the Western States FEMA Team. When we applied, we were hoping to go to Florida. I’m glad that your friends are “OK” too. I always wish I could just take off, go, and help clean up…but it’s yet to happen. Maybe one day I’ll just have to do it. Take care. ☺

Thanks for all the concern about our cottage in Florida. I've been told by friends that our cottage doesn't have any damage. However, we have water up to our porch steps. We now have electricity and water; we are very fortunate. Quite a few cottages in our development were structually damaged and x'd in red by FEMA. I'm told the dunes are gone and some shoreline. They are just now letting homeoners into the community. I've heard the clean-up is fantastic and will not hinder the tourist from coming there. We plan on going there the first of November for a homeowners meeting. We are just so happy our friends in Destin were safe. Take Care

mike, heck I don't remember the names of the towns, we have base camp in Plenty Wood Montanna and then drive where ever they tell us the hunting is good! Plenty Wood is in the 4 corners area. We usually make our contacts through people in Plenty wood, someone they know or a friend of a friend or whatever. Dr.Kelly Stagg and Neil Christensen go with us every year. They are Both from Roy originally, maybe you know them or remember them? Kelly moved in Jr. High but Neil was a year behind us in school. The Pheasant hunting is great in all the 4 corner area, kinda like the shows on TV on the outdoor life channel, there are so many Pheasants you don't know which one to shoot! It's fun to watch the dogs work, but it's sometimes hard on them when theres so much scent and so many directions to go. I can't believe that you were lucky enough to live in that area!! I have to drive 18 hrs. to get there! There is just no place to hunt in Utah anymore so we hunt Idaho, Montanna, & the Dakotas. I would love to hunt Kansas some day as well.

Have any of you guys seen where Roy's football team was 3-0 until they lost to Pine Veiw last night? I am still a devoted Royal, checking their score every Saturday morning. I was a High school football official for years a while back. One year I was given three Roy games on one contract. The next year I requested not to be given any Roy games. The reason was that I found myself throwing my flags against their opponents with a sense of Royal pride. Then in an effort not to do that, I'd end up not throwing my flag when I needed to. The last straw was the night that I nearly tackled a Fremont running back. There was something about the Black and Gold that made Roy games my toughest games. So, I never did another after that season. Just a funny memory popping into my head on a Saturday morning that I thought I'd share with friends. Friends who might understand that one can leave home but home never leaves you.
Maybe its the Fogelberg music I'm listening to?

Yes all of them have to be fixed or have an appointment to be fixed before leaving the shelter. And with good reason, I might add. Why and what do you want to breed.

Man I had a WONDERFUL weekend! We went down to Torrey Utah which is just on the rim of Capitol Reef. What a quaint town. We stayed at a RV park and woke up to red buttes every morning. Our friends have a 40’ motor home with all the bells and whistles; we really had to rough it! Also found Utah’s best kept restaurant secret El Diablo. Not only was it priced reasonably, tasted marvelous but was presented so beautifully that you almost didn’t want to eat it. Who would have known in the middle of no where there would be such a find? It’s actually one of three restaurants in a 100 mile radius.
At the RV Park there are full hook ups, tent spaces, fully equipped cabins and trailers to rent. And in town there are a couple other motels and places to stay. Just outside of town starts the Capitol Reef area. You would need at least a week to even begin to touch the many trails. Some are four-wheeler, some paved and some hiking trails. I couldn’t believe there weren’t many people there at all. I would definitely do it again!
OK jfk (yeah right) now it's your turn!

Another thought is to find out when and where either Brian or John are playing with their bands. Guys? What's your schedule? Come on, we've had lots of let's but not many dos. RV
- Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 14:28:01 (CDT)
So Kim…how do I sound? The fact is, I act a lot younger in real life than I do typing on the keyboard. Sometime I act 47 years old…hehehehe. And as for Los Angeles…LA got everything a growing young man (48) could want. It’s got the sun, the beach, the girls on the beach (didn’t go to the beach, people keep pushing me back into the water, yelling, “don’t let him dry out…save the whale”), hot cars, great food, rich people, and most the people I meet were really nice and helpful. I love living in Utah, I always will, but it’s great to spend time in other cities, like LA, Seattle, Denver (love Denver), Dallas (hate the Cowboys), and even Atlanta. So, maybe I'm a little nuts…OK, maybe I’m totally nuts, but I have fun being it. Thanks Jerry for the update. I would love to party with you all, if given the chance.☺

You know what everyone? Reading this kinda makes me feel young again, ya know what I mean? John and I don't have anything going on, He was always a great guy and I've always loved his humor!! And after all, It had been too many years since we had seen each other and it was a fun time seeing everyone! I wish I could have visited with more of you but it just didn't last long enough. Scwitz, I think you're a sweetheart, and awfully nice, but with Holly being in the wall paper business, I don't think that's a good idea. Well I think we should have a big end of summer party somewhere so we all get together again real soon. Let's be sure to keep this part alive!!

Rich!!! Welcome back!! And, I might add, this is kind of a party. I enjoy every single comment!! As you probably already know, "life in general is pretty tough", but this makes it a lot more fun. In fact, I've been working all night and decided I needed some good news, and I got it!! I don't want to start sounding like Burton, but..... Burton!! I was so excited to see your picture on the website!! You look great! Since we all didn't get a chance to see you at the reunion, it was great to finally see a picture of you! I still don't understand why you like Los Angeles so much but, I'm still trying to. Tommy, my comments about "Jocks", are all in good humor because honestly, I remember all of you jocks fondly... You all never really said much, but were really nice. I guess it was a "focus on our sport" kind of thing. By the way my comment about Arnold was "what do you think of Arnold the Governor!" Not "Arnold the rock star". Jerry, I thought that was really neat about the guy in PA. Did you tell him that "yes, all of the photo's were digitally enhanced?". Don't give the secret out. Schwitz.... I wondered about all of those pix with you and Barb...... They were good pix though....

Hi Kim...
I was a "Nice Jock"?? Oh good...I was hoping someone would remember "US" kindly. We were such Butts...arrogant, rude, self centered. "Nice jocks" is kind of an oxymoron, though, like "Military Intelligence." CSI of the mind is pretty close with Forensic psy...How are you? Sorry, I missed your band, B.Arnold. My musical talent lies in sitting in the audience, listening...I "CAN" dance though...Hi R.V., What's up?? The "Life According to Burton" was pretty cool. You never know who you touch when you share something like that...You have to find what makes you happy. I think everyone from the class of 74 are special. (I hope that made grammatical sense). Hey, anyone heard from Kent Smith??

FYI - Last night, I had a fun conversation with a very nice class officer from the Class of 1974 from Conestoga Valley High School in Lancaster, PA. He found our website. Here are a few of his comments. Referring to all of you, he said "Are you sure some of those photos weren't digitally enhanced, your classmates don't look anywhere near 48+ years old". He also watched our video and had some laughs and smiles - He said the following: "And, to think that I don't even know any of you folks from Utah. Then again, maybe there is a connection, ...the human connection!". He said they were having their 30 year reunion in October - Would that have been a better month for our reunion?

George Carlin's Views on Aging
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.
"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you’re gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life, you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!! But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed? You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 . . . and your dreams are gone. But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would! So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60. You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92." Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!" May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay" them”.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil’s name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether its family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.☺

Hi Tommy, Nice to hear from you…I know you don’t remember me, but a Forensic Psychologist, WOW, what a cool job. About how much time do you spend in court? A martial arts school, sounds like a hand full. A psychologist, who by virtue of training or experience may assist a court or other fact finder in arriving at a just or correct decision and can kick your butt also, sound like the prefect combination. ☺

Sorry...that hobbie "is" a second job. I have practiced and taught martial arts since...well, started after high school ended. I didn't want to play college football, and I wanted to still be able to hit people, in a socially acceptable manner. I was opening my second Karate school and it's been a headache. My real job is as a Forensic Psychologist. I work will lots of bad guys. We all have our niche I guess.

Do I owe any apologies to anyone? Do I owe anyone money? Just want to know what to expect when I come to the 40th...Hope you are all well. I was just checking the guest book to see how the reunion went. It sounds like it was great. Windsor, California

Here is Jim Maw's obituary: WASILLA, Alaska - Jim passed away at his home in Wasilla on Saturday, July 10, at the age of 57. He was born January 17, 1947, in Ontario, Oregon. Jim was the third child of Roland and Cleone S. Maw. He spent his growing up years on farms and ranches in Oregon, Montana, and Washington. The family moved to Roy, Utah, when he was a junior in high school. He graduated in 1966 with the first graduating class for the new Roy High School. He earned many awards and set, still unbroken, records in Track and Field. He married Kerry Rees on September 1, 1966, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and they had six children. His employment in the last ten years has been as an Occupational Health and Safety manager in the oil industry. He was located in various places from the North Slope to Adak, Alaska, and most recently in Singapore.
Jim had a great love for his family and friends. he was always willing to help wherever he could, or give friendly advice when asked. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions including Branch President in Barrow, Alaska. He has gained a strong testimony through struggles and trials.
Jim is survived by his wife Terry and their children: Todd (Deena) Maw, Palmer, AK; Jamie (Steve) Johnson, Roy, UT; Jonika (David) Blanke, Syracuse, UT; Jaron Maw, Roy, UT; Jeree (Brandon) Greenwood, Syracuse, UT; Julie (Rex) Elmer, Ogden, UT; Aaron (Misty) Brown, Clearfield, UT; Jennifer (Sean) Janes, Wasilla, AK; Amy (Rod) Terry, Syracuse, UT; Jillian (Parker) Burrup, Kaysville, UT; Jared (Amber) Brown, Kenai, AK; and a posterity of 31 grandchildren is his treasure.

Maw, St. George, UT; brothers, Roland Maw of Kasilof, AK, and Robert Maw of Pinedale, WY; sisters, Suezun Hilburn of St. George, UT, and Janet Engelke, Hooper, UT. He is preceded in death by his father Roland Richard Maw, two sisters Mary Lou and Lynda, and a granddaughter Kaitlynn Brown.
HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED - WE LOVE YOU, DAD!

HI EVERYONE,
I AM SO SORRY I MISSED THIS REUNION, BUT I HAD NO CHOICE BECAUSE OF A PRIOR TEACHING ENGAGEMENT THAT I PROMISED I WOULD NOT MISS. MANY PEOPLE DEPEND ON ME TO HELP THEM PASS THEIR MEDICAL BOARDS AND I HAD ALREADY AGREED TO GIVE LECTURES THAT FELL RIGHT ON THE REUNION DATE! I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WHEN I LEARNED ABOUT THAT. HAVE SOME NEWS THOUGH. THEIR IS A POSSIBILITY THAT I MIGHT BE GETTING REMARRIED TO A GREAT WOMAN I MET FROM HUNGARY. SHE IS ONE OF THE KINDEST AND SWEETEST I HAVE EVER MET. NOW THAT MY CHILDREN ARE NEARLY GROWN AND I FEEL SUCH AN EMPTY NEST I FEEL LIKE HAVING AT LEAST ONE MORE. HER NAME IS BERNADETTE AND SHE IS FROM BUDAPEST. ANYWAY I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A RECEPTION IN OGDEN AND MY BROTHER, MARC, THE BEST DENTIST IN OGDEN HAS OFFERED TO LET ME USE HIS HOUSE. I WOULD LOVE FOR ANYONE FROM OUR CLASS TO ATTEND AND IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO BRING A GIFT. I JUST WANT TO SEE EVERYONE AND FOR THEM TO MEET MY NEW BRIDE. I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH EVERYONE AND YOU CAN EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING TO THE RECEPTION AT ddcollman@aol.com or call and leave a message on my cell phone at 561-305-8163 if I dont answer. I HAVE A NEW CELL SERVICE (METRO-PCS) AND SOME OF MY CALLS GET DIVERTED DIRECTLY TO MY VOICE MAIL. I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT HOPEFULL Y THEY WILL EVENTUALLY SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
I HOPE TO HAVE THE RECEPTION IN MID-LATE MAY. THE EXACT DATE HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED YET. I WILL KNOW SOON.
WARMEST REGARDS TO ALL,
DWIGHT

My vacation is over. I had been asked by a number of you to put the video presentation up on the website. It is now available for your viewing enjoyment. There are two versions, I highly recommend downloading the broadband version (87 meg). The smaller version just lost too much in the compression, so for all of you dialup users, watch it at a friends house or start the download before you go to bed. PS-Any of you who have any pictures, I am ready to put them up on the website, so please send me what you have. I have recieved a few pictures already - thanks to all who have sent them.

Thanks everyone for attending the reunion. The thing that made it fun was such good people. We have a great class. Sorry I missed the Alumni night, but three flat tires on the boat trailer on the way home from Lake Powell made it impossible to get there. Next reunion we will have it some where where we don't havew to leave by midnight. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks to all on the committee!Catch you on Mr. Jeff's neighborhood. Samantha, I used to know your dad pretty good back in the day, his girlfriend was my best friend. We had alot of fun times! He has a wonderful family of great brothers and they are all very handsome!! But I have to say... There's no doubt about it your dad is just as good looking as he ever was, and very much a gentleman. Smantha, I remember your father very well. I used to date his friend Myron Baker. Your dad was a great guy... always shy but very friendly. He was always very good looking and still is!! Why is it that gray hair on men is distinguished, and just old on women?? well anyway he is still way good looking. You should be very proud of him as I'm sure he is of you!! Lets see it can't be all good with parents... so I'll tell you we used to party just a little!

It was almost sad to see the reunion end last night. Working with all of you committee members over the last year has been a pleasure and an honor – thank you for your friendship. I had a wonderful experience over the last few days and I will never forget it. Even my wife Darinda, a Bonneville graduate, had a great time. I am just an opinion of one, but it appeared to me that everyone really enjoyed the reunion. I was really pleased to see some of the conflicts that were once a part of the High School experience, had been completely erased. Many of you talked about your reservations in coming because of fears of past High School experiences, but I noticed all of you had huge smiles. Over the last few days, I tried to talk to every single person that attended. After looking at all of the pictures, I believe I only missed 3 or 4 of you – I will catch you next time around.
To Jeff Manning, John Schwitzer, Gary Packham, and John Newton – outstanding delivery of your parts of the program – you all hit home-runs. As my kids would say - You were awesome! I saw so many friends over the last few days that I haven’t seen for ages – I just hope it isn’t another 5 or 10 years before we get together again.
I noticed there were tons of digital cameras clicking away last night. If you will share those precious pictures with us, I would be happy to put them up on the website (I am going to take a few days off first). Some of you have sent emails this morning about the video presentation. I will see what we can do about that, so stay tuned into the website for more on that.
Everyone, thank you for sharing your time over the last few days to create some lasting memories. You are all truly the best!!!!

I had a struggle with my feelings for 28 years, to the point that I almost decided not to attend the reunion at all. But last year I finally came to grips with myself and resolved alot of my feelings. I finally realized that I was a fun guy to tease and that I made it pretty hard for people not too. Many times I laughed on the outside and cried on the inside. I was bitter and angry, and I was hurting no one but myself. It was when I accepted responsibilty for myself, I begin to heal. No one could make me feel the way I felt without my allowing it. And if I wanted everyone to know who I am, I would ask forgiveness for harboring emotions that went unchecked for years, which did them no harm, but was a source of my remorse and guilt. As I have read "guestbook comments" I have sensed some frustrations from some of the contributors. I wonder how many others have feelings and are not going to add comments or attend the reunion. To those people, please reconsider, find in your heart the sense of independence to free those feelings and rise above your history. Be greatful for all your friends, both good and bad, for they all have changed your life a little. Make all this work for you, by letting life be good to you, by not beating yourself down, with the frustrations of youth. Please, join your classmates in this celabration of life, for in it, we have journeyed together.

Mechelle, it's to bad you can't make it to the reunion. I have fond memories of our friendship early in life, even though we lost touch in high school, I remember what a pretty lady you are. My husband and I spend much time in St. George golfing! Sky Mountain is one of our favorites. Burton, I'm really upset that you aren't coming to the reunion. You must have a reason. Maybe you could work it in?? B the way, I don't think "Sir Royal Duckness" is anything like "Somebody".... He's much to nice... Once again, since I'm so naive, what does "Keep your Tips Up" mean? Is it skiing???? duhh.... See you all Friday!!

Burton, I too am sorry I can't say thanks to you in person. You have been an integral part of the guestbook. You may not be aware, but on average we have about 70 of our classmates coming to the guestbook, every single day - you have made it the success that it is. Thank-you. PS-we are going to keep this live long after the reunion. We are also going to update the website with pictures from all of the reunion events. Thank-you Burton!!!! We will miss you!!!!!!

Dear Guestbook,
I’m sorry, that I will not be coming to the reunion. I’m the King of Bad Decisions. I guess this is just one more on a long list of other. I don’t think that I’m the “Ring Master” as Linda puts it. Linda and Kim are the ones who have me coming back to read what they have to say and John, Brian, Mike, Jerry, Tina, and even S. R. Duck. By the way, Halvern is a subdivision on the north end of Roy. It was a great place to live and grow up. The people I grow up with are the greatest friends a person could ask for. I hope you all have a great time. The Reunion Committee has done a great job and should be thanked, so THANK YOU. Thank you, Linda and Kim (Kim make sure S. R. Duck doesn't turn into "somebody")for making me a part of the Guestbook. Always remember “To Keep Your Tips Up”. ☺

What do you mean you aren’t coming to the reunion Jim? How can the Ring Master not perform at the circus we call Alumni night? I think I speak for most everyone when I say you have contributed hugely to the success of the guestbook and reacquainting fellow classmates. It would be a real shame not to be able to thank you in person.

Kim, when I was in college there was a fellow who called everybody Duck. I was from Roy, so I became 'Sir Royal Duckness'. It was fun and the name stuck with my new friends. I was proud of any name that had the name Royal in it. I thought I'd use it now for a mystery fun thing. A little game.
There are a few guys I went to school with who might remember, but I don't know if they read the guestbook. I am sorry Burt and Brian can't make it. I'm not from Hooper. This is kind of a weird game I know, but it's funny what one will do when he has to much time on his hands.

Vern Stokes actually lives in Farmington, married, has 1 girl & 1 boy. He does work for the state and his passion is windsurfing. He travels to the Columbia River Gorge (som sort of windsurfing Mecca) as often as he is able. Last I heard of Eddie Saxton, he lived in Morgan. Quien sabe? It's really great to see evryone's pictures and read what's going on. Schwitzer, I'm glad I'm not the only one that never grew up...you're my hero!

I had no idea that the Hooper group was so tight, it's fun for me to read about your excitment and anticipation. However, it does cause me to pause in deep reflection, as I try to recall if any kids from Roy High were from Roy? I hear 'Hal Vern', and I can't remember if that guy was from Roy or Hooper? From what I read he must be one cool dude! It is fun to see old friends share in this 'guestbook' their friendship, with all that we have to deal with in this world, its truly refreshing. To see all of the successful people I went to school with, to relate to the struggles some have had, and to know we have all traveled this space of time together. This has huge meaning to me. Thanks for sharing your stories on the home link. A big thanks to Jerry, THANKS! And last of all, its nice to see that John Schwitzer has a sense of humor, I didn't think he had one when we were in school! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day!

Linda, when he (Heninger) came through the guy’s tee-pee, we all sleep through it too. I remember the hike and the cold. I remember going down to a lake and swimming. That water was so cold. I’ll have to dig through my pictures to see if I can find then. It seems like Lynn Horspool was there and Gregg Hinds, and Charmalee (Chuck) Blakeley, but it has been along time. There were a lot of 11th grade girl, Brenda Brown comes to mind. Was it Susan Dance’s mom who hit Heninger? If I can find those pictures.☺

Yeah Jim that was the same year! I can see her face but can't remember who it was that hit him. Believe it or not I slept through the whole thing! Do you remember the hike and sleep over in the mountains? it was SO cold. We started our fire in the snow with Chris's Lysol which she carried everywhere with her...it was a lot of fun. I hope you can find your pictures too!

Linda, I went the year the Mr. Heninger shot the bear. I forgot I had those pictures somewhere. I thought it was the summer between our 10th and 11th grade. Someone’s mother hit Mr. Heninger over the head with a shoe, the night he dressed up as a bear and was going through the tee-pees. I thought that I went the first year they did the camp. The bus they got was too small for all of us and our stuff. We had to sit three to a seat and/or on the floor. It was one of the funnies things I did in school. ☺

Linda, I know you are waiting for John to tell you about some watering holes, but I can’t see you in a hole, so, here are my favorite places to go for a drink with friends. (Even though I don’t drink, many of my friends do). The City Club, 264 25th Street, Rooster’s Brewing Co, 253 25th Street, Brewski’s, 244 25th Street, Teazers 366 36th Street. I work in the area of down town Ogden and we go to lunch and after work to these places. They all have great food too. For micro brewery, Red Rudy, Riverdale Road, is a great steak place, where you can enjoy home made beers. I’m not sure how late some of these places stay open, but I think most stay open late. Hope this helps. ☺

Kim and Linda, That’s funny...Lola, Kathy, Ronda, and Valerie all grow up in Hal Vern and were friends. But the names I was thinking about was Patty, Ann, Jay, Cindy, Valerie, Wayne, David, Pauline, and Sandra. (Eugene Jay and Steve Kida, who both have passed away.) (I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone...old age does it to you.) We all spent a lot of time together during our school days.
Do you think that it’s funny how you remember things and other don’t remember the same events? Or they remember something that you had forgotten and wish that they had too. After all, we were all just kids. I guess it good for the soul and mind to think back to those days. Seeing each other again, old feeling resurfacing, good times and bad times. I'll get down off the soap box now...I guess that’s enough talk from the Book of James. Life... ☺

Hi Linda, There was a group that I grow up with, girls and guys. All lived with in a few blocks from each other. We were all pretty good friends, some of us closer than others, but all good friends. When you are young, you think you will be best friends for life. But in the really world, it doesn’t happen like that. While going through the classmates profiles, none of this group has updated their profile. So, I was just trying to see if any of them are out there. ☺

Hey Susan, nice to hear from you and I apologize to anyone I might have offended from my ranting earlier. You know you think those memories are far behind you and then a reunion brings them all back! John I hope by "removed" you don't mean died? If so, I'm so sorry. My hubby will get a chuckle out you thinking he had a lisp. Actually his english friends think he has an american accent. Go figure! Linda Smith Wright, thanks for the eloquent expression of teenage feelings about high school. Isn't it nice we've all grown older, wiser and past those teenage mistakes? John and Tracie, now I know why the choir kids were considered cool and us band kids were the band geeks!

By the way do you remember you and your wife (sorry don’t remember her name) living in the duplex in Roy by the municipal building? Hello Classmates, sorry for the previous ranting. I would love to make up for it by suggesting anyone that is interested to get together after the alumni gathering. It would be fun to meet up somewhere, relax, and get reacquainted in a more “adult” environment. Personally I would love to share a glass of wine and get to know a few of you. If you’re interested and have any suggestions where a good place would be, let me know!

Our band is "Saddlestrings, and we don't really play "country" stuff, more along the lines of "cowboy". Kind of like Chris LeDoux meets the Sons of the Pioneers, for lack of a better description. I hope to see alot of the same people at this reunion,That was at the last one. I came up from Ca. not knowing what to expect? And I was really surprised at how EVERYBODY made me feel like I was a long lost brother!! I talked to Lisa Tanner and Kim Anderson,[as different as night and day from my crowd back in school] and too many to list. I was the head of the Parking lot crowd back in school, So I wasn't on the best of terms with most of the milder kids! But at the 20 yr.I felt people had grown up and discovered the real world outside of high school. And made me feel the trip up here to Ut. was worth every cent!!!! I'm so looking forward to seeing as many of you as I can. I live up here again,so I hope the friendships won't stop after the reunion. So I hope this helps some of you fence sitters to decide in favor of coming!!!! I'd bet you won't be disappointed.

In response to L. Hansen's comments:
I was born and raises in Hooper, went all through school from the beginning with Jeff Manning, Mike Vaughn, Jerry Ropelato, and all the rest from Hooper/Kanesville. I was not LDS, but they still hung out with me then. We made it to Jr. High at Wahlquist, then to Sandridge, and finally to Roy High. We went different paths, hung out with different people. But one thing I have to admit about these people, was they still acknowledged who I was, still said hello in the halls, but I don't blame them for me chosing a different path. I am still not LDS, in fact, I'm not even Christian, but these people still took the time to say hi when we met in the hall. There was Linda Willey, Vicki Beus, Jessica VanMeeteren, and all the rest. Just because you felt distanced from the class, don't blame everyone else. You chose the path you took. Sorry for the long rant, but I felt the need to speak my mind. I will see all of you at the reunion.

Dear Classmates of 1974,
I thought I would share this letter with all who are interested. I composed this for L. Hansen but thought a few of you might value from an “outsider” view looking in:
Dear L. Hansen,
I don’t know if you’re male or female, it doesn’t matter. I understand how the upcoming reunion brings back feelings you thought was left behind. I was a military brat and totally innocent of the tight Mormon community to which my family settled. I was use to race/religion/politics not being an issue. Boy what an eye opener at the delicate age of 10 it was.
I endured all my final years at school being an “outsider”. It was really difficult going through high-school feeling like something was wrong with me. I didn’t attend any of the school dances due to not being asked. Even when given the opportunity to ask someone myself, still being rejected.
I too had huge reservations about the reunion. Quite honestly the ONLY reason I am attending is because of my friend wanting to go having missed the 20 year.
I have to admit I’m a little apprehensive myself. High school…school in Utah, was not/is not my one of my fondest memories.
I am hoping as adults nearing our half-century mark that we have all grown wiser and more tolerant of our differences.
Funny how our youth molds our entire life. But I hope I have grown and learned from my experiences and not let it tarnish the true me.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith, class of 1974

L. Hansen, the commitee members have worked really hard and spent many long hours putting this reunion together. You have to realise most of these people have not had any contact with each other for over 30 years. So needless to say there a little ribbing and testing the waters of friendship. This forum has allowed people an opportunity to get to know each other again and catch up. It's too bad you're choosing not to attend and cannot bring yourself to reveal who you are. I hope you have a wonderful life and don't regret a chance to see people you may not ever see again.

You know what? I've decided to save my money and stay home because the more I read this guestbook nonsense the more I feel like I'm in church. Hey I have an idea, lets see if we can hold this shindig at the tabernacle, it certainly couldn't be any less boring! I swear I think you people have no lives!! Talk about Mary Poppins.Maybe you have the right idea having people sign up on the internet because I can see no reason to waste the postage on sending any invitations. I would have thought that with 30 years behind us we would have some sense of humor or a little personality but I guess some things never change!! Aren't we having some fun now?

Hey Joanne! I don't have a clue who Doug Colby is -- I am so sorry. Obviously the "old timers" disease has set in. Can't wait to see you!
Does anyone out there read that Barbara Wiberg died? Again because of the "old timers" disease I can't remember when, but I think at least a year ago maybe longer. I just remember reading that she still lived in Roy. Someone straighten me out if I am wrong.

TRACIE ADAMS?? It's so great to hear from you!! Sounds like you're doing great! You'll have to tell me more about this golf club business because I need help there. Do you remember Mr. Sandman? Are you a golfer? Rex, Sterling Morris was one of my favorite teachers. I used to tell my family "the only thing that made high school fun for me was the choir". It's good to here he's still doing it! JoAnne,it's great to see you still have that neat personality from school! (Is Jerry really still "way cute?". Hey James, you act like there is something wrong with "the smart ones". Have you ever heard of a guy named Bill Gates? I also wanted to apologize for not mentioning what a great job Jerry and the committee are doing. Thanks a bunch! This has got to be stressful keeping up with everything. Can't wait to see you! Rex, See…I didn’t even notice you had left out “ago”… My kids are always telling me that when I read, I add stuff that not even there. They say it’s part of old age, but I think it’s because I’m know what they really want to say and can read their minds. Hey…I found your keys, never mind, their mine. ☺

I saw Mr Morris tonight at a play in SLC.He retired ten years ago, but is still envolved with the youth in the area. Instead of taking groups to festivals, he takes them to universties and colleges for workshops and seminars, where the kids enhance their skills and educations. This saves the kids money and gives them additional real life education.Mr Morris has used his many contacts in the Western States to organize these events. He has even had professional actors do workshops for young HS drama students, thus giving these kids an experience in Theater reality. Mr Morris has been to CA with the Veiwmont Band and the Davis Chior. But most often he tours with Roy High groups. The kids love it. I thought this was way cool and I wanted to share it with the class.

My family still lives in Utah, except me and one of my sisters. I have a sister that lives here in the desert by me; 2 brothers in Layton; 1 brother in Farr West and 1 sister in Farmington. My dad died in 1986 and mom moved out of our Roy house to Layton. I look forward to seeing everybody at the reunion. Whenever I make a trip to Utah I make a point to go to the Burger Bar and Tony's Pizza. Some of my best memories are from these two places. I also want to thank you Jerry and the rest of the committee for all your work in planning the reunion. I wish I could be there to help.

Let me clarify. The mean-spirited comments were already taken off of the website. We felt they were in extremely poor taste and had no business being on our website. I don't know who submitted them because they didn't leave their name. Personally, I have thought most of the comments were excellent-a couple were in the gray area. Let's move on with it and have some fun in the guestbook forum. I look forward to reading these comments every day. It is nice to hear from everyone and to see a little badgering done in good jest. We appreciate everyone participating. keep it up. Thanks.
